We headed out into the pond to explore before heading up the actual river.
We went as far as we could in the open pond park of the river here. We were hoping there was a channel between here and the river itself, but there wasn't one. So we had to paddle through the weeds/grass in rather shallow water. but we made it!
Heading up the Metedeconk
After paddling up river a good while we get to drive under the garden state parkway, and eventually Rt 70 in Brick, NJ
On the other side of the bridge the river gets much thinner with a LOT of growth. We didn't make it too much further past this point.
The only way past this is to get over a log. Rob almost didn't make it
This was as far as we got. Right past this section contained numerous trees down across the river. Time to turn around and come back.
Back into the main pond, and almost back to our cars.
