After walking around the lake, we took the Metedeconk trail. I never knew that this area was known for its LARGE population of ants and ant mounds. Kinda weird actually.

Folowing this trail had us cross Nomoco Road, and finally plopped us into the Nomoco Activity Area. Which looked like an old boyscout summer camp.

Getting back to the main section of park, we continued around the lake, and back to the main parking lot.

We were about the head back to my truck when we heard some people talking about a HUGE snapping turtle. We headed over to see what they meant by huge. Oh boy.. it was HUGE. Probably close to (if not longer) than 2 feet long. The head was huge as well. I don't ever want to swim in this pond.
