The drive up/Day one.
About 4 and a half hours into our trip, we hit a town right outside Lake George NY called Glenns falls. We do some shopping, and continue on our way. About (maybe) 30 minutes past Glenns Falls, we passed by this old castle. We are not sure of it's history, but decided to get some pictures.
As we were turning around after I got those last pictures, I notced something down the river a little. It was a working lock system. Possably a part of Lake Champlane and the canal that goes all the way down to the Hudson. I will find out more about this down the road someday. Anyways..I figured I would take a few pictures since this was the first time I had ever seen a real working lock system.

Perfect timing..a boats going through the lock (5/22/03) |
Back on the road again, my mood to take pictures continued. This time my choice of subjects is a lil less boring. :)
Day 2
Day 2 consisted of simple fun. Our main journey for the day was a trip to Quechee State Park, VT. This was discribed to me as being a rather deep gorge, name Quechee State Park. We came here when we visited this area over the winter, but the snow was piled too high for me to see over the railings of the bridge. So now we are back, and ready for a simple hike. I don't know the specifics to the height/depth of the gorge, but it's deep. When Sue spit off, it took a lil bit of time to splash down in the water. Wait..I mean when I spit, it took a while. Yeah..that's who did it :) Anyways..The third picture in this series is taken from the top of the bridge that crosses over the gorge, looking down the river about a half mile. That is where our hike brought us down to. Enjoy.

Same sign, a bit closer (5/23/03) |

This is where we hiked to. It wasn't very far, but rather steep in some areas (5/23/03) |
A zoomed shot of the same area. Again from the bridge (5/23/03) |
This is the side we didn't hike up. It is just as pretty (5/23/03) |
My attempt to how high we are above this 50' wide river. (5/23/03) |
The fence didn't allow me to get a better shot over the side. It would have been a cool shot..I swear :) (5/23/03) |
Heading down the well kept path, Sue is once again up to being her beautiful self. (5/23/03) |
This part of the river had so many cool lil spots to it, including this small but fast moving eddy (5/23/03) |
A closer view (5/23/03) |
The sign on the right made me laugh. You are good to go if you make it ALL the way up, or fall and die. Anything less will result in a fine (5/23/03) |
Ferns, nature, and a nice river..good times (5/23/03) |
Up the hill.. (5/23/03) |
Down the hill. Yes, a waste of space on my digital camera. I figured I would waste your time too :) (5/23/03) |
Sue is either getting ready to pee..or.. (5/23/03) |
Getting ready for a picture. You decide :) (5/23/03) |
A nice lil water fall across the gorge (5/23/03) |
The color of the river had an awesome green to it. I really wanted to jump in (5/23/03) |
I think Sue is sleep walking (5/23/03) |
This is the area I mentioned with the pictures looking down the river (5/23/03) |
This whole section was nice. We walked out onto the rocks to explore a lil (5/23/03) |

Sue taken the lead! (5/23/03) |

Looking back up the river, towards the bridge we started on. Told you it was high :) (5/23/03) |

Zoomed in a bit (5/23/03) |

Same shot, a bit bigger picture (5/23/03) |
Just a few steps from where we were, Sue noticed that the river got really deep. Look at the dropoff at the edge of the rock. (5/23/03) |
Another shot of the same spot (5/23/03) |
Time to leave :( (5/23/03) |
Another picture of the rapids in the rocky area we were in (5/23/03) |
One more of the bridge as we walked back to the top. (5/23/03) |
Day 3
Day 3 had a few lil adventures. We started off going out with Sue's mom to get some business type clothes for me, then to get Sue's B-Day present. The night consisted of a trip to the local theater (with a stage and not a screen), to watch the Navy Jazz band. Gooood times :) Lets start this off with some fun pictures of Sue while on our way to the mall. Boy I can be annoying.
Day 4
Day 4 was our last day up there :( In the morning, we went to the church her parents attend. It was the first time I have been to a church in a long while, but I feel like I might have found a bit of spiritual guidance there. Since we got to church a lil early, we walked around the sorrounding area. Here are some pictures of a new marble bridge and the sorrounding area.
After church we drove by a another old "castle". Kinda cool. (5/25/03)
A few from the drive home after it got dark out (5/25/03)
That's It!
So that was the jist of the trip. Here and some random, not too special pictures
