Getting prepared for work |
I'll take this one.. and this one.. and.. |
After gathering the tools, we headed out with the intent of creating a trail off the dam that would still give access the same level of access to the current trails that run off the dam and along the river. We were going to create a trail that ran along the field (away opposite the dam) and into the woods nearby.
This trail will need to be moved. Erosion = bad, especially on a dam |
The original trail was replanted and looking good. |
It doesn't look like much, but this 25 foot downhill is the largest drop in Mercer County Park |
I believe that should read "Danger" and "No Pedestrians or bikes" |
We had management making sure we did things right |
An "unofficial" trail across the field |
bike path, dam, dirt path, fence, field, grass, hill, trail, water |
Creating our plan |
Time to get to work |
Sweet |
Once we found our entrance point for this new trail, we got to work.
A competing photographer.. we may have to fight |
A talk of a new trail? Maybe. |
With the initial 100 feet of the wooded trail started, a few of us moved down towards the river. We worked on creating a new trail through the edge of the field.
All they wanted to do was play |
Cutie |
They found something very interesting that was gone by the time I got there. |
The trail has been cut. |
The final trail cuts through the woods, across the field, and along a few trails that were already here. It is going to be a fun ride.
Time to wrap this up.

Relaxing after a good day |

A good sized crew for the day |
