I have been getting into kayaking more and more. I have rented one a million times at the Manasquan Reservoir (Howell, Monmouth County, New Jersey), but wanted to really learn how to handle one. A few friends and I decided to take a river kayaking class through Whitewater Challengers (Weatherly, Carbon County, Pennsylvania) in the Lehigh Gorge State Park (Luzerne | Carbon, Pennsylvania). Here are the pictures from that weekend.

Day One: the reservoir
A nice shot across the reservoir |
The water looks rather low, but this is about 50' higher then normal. |
Just a cool looking dead tree. |
Day Two: the Lehigh river
A nice shot of the river. It's also a good shot of a jerky kid walking to shore :) |
Down the river and through the rocks, just hoping that we don't fall. |
This is a small creek coming into the river. We were told in the spring that this is too tough to run. |
