I usually stop at this
|
My new wide angle rocks. |
Into High Point State Park. I never came in this way. I am on Sawmill Road heading towards the campsites/Sawmill Lake/route 23.
Sawmill Lake
|
Poison Ivy |
I leave the lake, get onto 23 south, and than make a left into the main section of the park. As soon as you pay your entrance fee there is a one lane scenic drive to your right. I headed up there to get some pix.
Off the right side ot the one lane road you will find a few places to stop for a picnic or just to look around. THis is one of those spots. Its a watch tower/scenic over look area.

Thats fog down in the valley |
I got off the one lane road, and made a right to head up to the monument. I parked in the lot and walked up to it.
I had never been to the top of the monument so I figured i would head up. I didn't think about the fast that it was hot as hell, humid as hell, and i was going to have to climb 200+ stairs.

Looking up from th bottom |
There were pretty small windows going all the way up. I tried to get a few pictures out them on any that were clean.

The little windows to see out |

Looking out the monument through a little window about halfway up |
The sights from the top windows were amazing.

Lots of stairs to go down on this hot day |

This shot would not have happened without my Wide angle lense |
|
The main swimming area in the park |
I headed back down to the swimming area/lake and walked around for a few more minutes before leaving the park.
Now its ime to jet over to PA and Raymondskill Falls. I stopped along the way a few times.
About half an hour later I get to the falls.

Looking down onto the upper falls |
|
The lower falls |
While heading back to my car I noticed a new (new to me) trail that brought me down through woods, next to some small waterfalls, and down to the main river.

While setting up for a panoramic i didn't realize i was in the shot |
