Trip to California
I went out to Cali over Halloween in 2003. It was a mix between a business trip..meeting up with a company I might be doing work with..as well as a personal trip. I mean, how couldn't it be..would you go explore if you were dropped out into Cali?! :)

My first glimpse of the Pacific ocean. This was from the deck of a Taco Bell. Mmmmmm

While I was enjoying a taco, the one thing I HAD to see while out there flew over. I wish I was up there.
I loved the hills

I was so impressed and amazed by how beautiful this park was.
So nice
This picture came out soooo nice. It even printed out off my computer amazingly.
I thought I had walked about a mile or so, up about 1000 feet of elevation change. but this sign pointed out where I really was on the map, about 1/4 mile from where I started :(

On our way up to the big trees! AKA Sequoia National Forest.
Lan Luis Reservoir California is HUGE
Same picture, but with a zoomed section showing you little people. This place was HUGE!
About 4,000 feet above sea level, we stop so I can just stare in amazment.

At 4,500, I HAD to stop a take a picture
Just LOOK at this place!
Awww.. I had to share the moment :) Shortly after this we climbed into the clouds at about 5,000 feet.
After we broke through the cloud and found snow, and GIGANTIC TREES! I Always wanted to see a real live Great Sequoia. Look at how big it is compared to the size of the road!
These trees are HUGE.

It got COLD quick once we got through the clouds. Cold enough for snow even.
This picture gives you some insight into how big the Sequoias are. The trees in the front are normal 40' pine trees.
A closer picture of that same tree. Which is also the largest tree in the world, the General Sherman.

Give up? That my friends is the San Andreas Fault
A nice shot while heading down to Morrow Rock and the pacific ocean
Again another HUGE thing in Cali. Morrow Rock. Look how small the cars are next to it. They say this may have been placed here by a volcano somehow.

Nice shot of the ocean and sun.
Just a cool hill through a dirty windshield.

Pismo beach sand dunes. This was a HUGE state park. They don't even let us stand on a dune in jersey. here you can go for wheeling, camp, ride dirt bikes..whatever.
I was told this place is usually PACKED. So seeing NO ONE around amazed all of us.

After chasing helpless little birds, I found their tracks to be interesting for some odd reason.

Here comes my fav part of the day. And my FIRST actual sunset over the ocean. wonder why everyone likes this place. If I had a beautiful sunset every morning, I would be happy too. (in Pismo Beach, CA)
