Shark River Park is well known by locals as being a great place to go throughout the year. Within the 933 acres, you will find fishing, hiking, ice skating, cross-country skiing, shuffleboard, horseshoes, shelter building (reservation required), playground, fit trail and much more.
Fossil Hunting
The shark river runs along the northern boundary of the park. Though this river is rather large downstream, you'll find that is about 10-15 feet wide, and less then a few feet deep in most places of the park. This area of the river is rather well known for having shark teeth throughout the river bed. I must admit their are a lot less then when I was a kid in the 90s, but I would assume there are still a good amount to be found.
Parking
There two main entrances to the park:
School House RoadIn this area you will find a large parking area, picnic areas, lake access, trail access... pretty much access to everything. The main trailhead can be found directly across the street from the main parking area.
Gully RoadThis lot is a bit smaller, and offer access to the open fields and deeper trails.
