These natural outdoor "swimming pools" (a.k.a. Glacial Potholes) were several hundred million years in the making. The churning water within the river itself has worn away and polished smooth circular holes within the local rock faces. Some are only inches across, where others are more then 10'! Come dip your toes into some cool water after a day of seeing the sights of Shelburne Falls or driving the 63-mile Mohawk Trail, you'll find the Glacial Potholes right in the heart of town at the end of Deerfield Avenue.
